Sarah Geronimo goes viral after ' Iboto n'yo ako sa susunod na eleksyon' statement

Popstar royalty Sarah Geronimo caught netizens' attention after a video of her encouraging audiences to vote for her in the next election spread on social media.

In a TikTok video uploaded by @sgperformances, Sarah can be seen greeting the audience at a fun run event. Before leaving the stage, the singer-actress blurted out the words"Maraming salamat po, iboto niyo po ako sa susunod na eleksyon."

Prior, rumor about her running in the 2028 national elections was already circulating.

After garnering views and reactions from the fans, Sarah and Matteo's company, G Productions, cleared the issue via a statement.

"We have seen a few clips making the rounds suggesting that Sarah is gearing up for the next election, or at least testing the waters."

“For context: the video came from a live event where, as part of her closing spiel, Sarah playfully asked the audience to vote for her in the next election.

“It was a lighthearted moment meant purely for fun and crowd interaction.

“Sarah is exactly where she wants to be — on stage, doing what she loves, and inspiring people through her talent and artistry.

“We kindly ask everyone to enjoy the moment for what it was and resist adding any political color to an onstage joke," it ended.
