A construction worker accused of rape was finally arrested in Taguig City on Thursday, April 23, after evading the law for 10 years.
The Southern Police District (SPD) said the accused, identified as alias Allan, 51, a resident of Taytay, Rizal, was nabbed by operatives of the District Special Operations Unit on Punay Street in Barangay Rizal, Taguig.
Allan was tagged as the No. 1 most wanted person at the regional and provincial levels for the first quarter of the year.
He was apprehended based on a warrant of arrest with no bail recommended for a rape case issued on May 13, 2014 by Presiding Judge Emmanuel Cacho Rasing of the Baguio Regional Trial Court Branch 3.
Police brought the accused to the SPD office for documentation.
Col. Glenn Oliver Cinco, acting SPD district director, said, “After 10 years of evading arrest, justice has finally caught up with the accused. I commend our personnel for their unwavering dedication.”
