Man makes sign of cross before robbing Indian in Rizal
A man made the sign of the cross as if in prayer before robbing an Indian national in Cainta, Rizal, on April 18, police reported.
CCTV footage showed the suspect in violet T-shirt, half of his face covered with the garment, standing in an alley in Barangay San Juan. He was also seen making the sign of the cross while holding a knife in his other hand.
The footage also showed the suspect signaling to a possible accomplice before moving to the side of a house, where he appeared to hide and wait.
The Indian national later passed by the area, reportedly to collect debts. The suspect then blocked his path and forced him to hand over the money he was carrying, estimated at around P5,000.
The suspect immediately left the area on foot.
Barangay officials said the victim did not file a case against the suspect. However, they urged the suspect, who was reportedly previously jailed for theft, to surrender.
Authorities are now hunting down the man.
