Boracay elevates its sports tourism campaign by hosting the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Beach Tennis World Tour event at the White House Beach Resort.
Since its inaugural edition in 2024, the tournament has drawn players from more than 18 countries, with 66 athletes competing for valuable ranking points.
Among the standout participants is former world No. 8 Maksimilian Andersons and Japanese national team players Hiroyuki Tomioka, Kengo Masuda, and Satoshi Goda, underscoring the level of competition.
Providing institutional support is Theo Dy, a Board of Trustee of the Philippine Tennis Association (Philta).
The most recent four-day tournament featured BT10 (April 9-10) and BT50 (April 11-12) categories, showcasing a strong Asian field. Asia No. 2 Tomioka and Masuda claimed the men’s title, while Asia No. 6 Prakaikan Sawisit emerged victorious, with Asia No. 8 and Japan No. 7 Miku Onishi completing the podium.
Boracay Racquet Sports Club PH head Bong Tirol, together with Italian colleagues, first introduced beach tennis to the island.
