BOC-Port of Cebu lauded for improved services, coordination
CEBU CITY – Various groups cited the Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Cebu for operational improvements and strengthened coordination with logistics stakeholders.
The Visayas Unified Truckers Association (VUTAI) specifically cited District Collector Alexandra Yap-Lumontad “in recognition of her exemplary leadership and decisive actions in addressing operational concerns at the Port of Cebu."
VUTAI commended Lumontad’s prompt and effective measures in facilitating the timely release of containers, significantly benefiting the trucking industry across the Visayas.
Lumontad thanked VUTAI for the recognition.
“This honor reflects our commitment to keeping trade moving efficiently. Our truckers are vital partners in this process, and we will continue to work closely with you to address challenges, improve systems, and ensure faster and more reliable cargo movement,” she said.
The Oriental Port and Allied Services Corporation (Opascor) also awarded the Port of Cebu with a Letter of Commendation.
Opasco recognized the Port’s sustained performance and impressive gains in revenue collection and significant improvements in trade facilitation and cargo processing at the Cebu International Port.
The Philippine Chamber of Customs Brokers Inc.-Cebu Chapter (PCCBI) also commended the port for successfully surpassing its March 2026 collection target and sustaining strong performance for the first quarter of the year.
“This notable achievement reflects not only the port’s dedication to revenue generation, but more significantly, its steadfast commitment to trade facilitation, operational efficiency, and responsive customs administration,” PCCBI said.
FLS Group Philippines Inc. commended Lumontad “for her decisive efforts to improve Customs procedures and strengthen service delivery.”
The Cebu Mitsumi Inc., through president Tatsuya Mori, also recognized the port for its “consistent delivery of efficient, predictable, and well-administered customs processes that directly support the company’s manufacturing and export operations.”
A Letter of Commendation and Appreciation from A.D. Gothong Manufacturing Corp. recognized the port’s strong leadership and its continued efforts in ensuring efficient and reliable cargo movement.
Members of the Customs Industry Consultative and Advisory Council (CICAC) expressed full support for Lumontad through an “Appreciation of Good Leadership and Manifesto of Support.”
