Two suspects arrested in Payatas ' gas-and-run' incident
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Tuesday, April 21, arrested two suspects involved in a “gas-and-run incident at a gas station in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City.
The incident occurred around 3:10 a.m. on April 20 at a station. A motorist driving a white Toyota Vios allegedly requested gasoline worth P1,500 but sped off without paying, heading towards the Litex area in Barangay Commonwealth.
Authorities coordinated with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and identified the vehicle’s registered owner in Taguig City, who later clarified that the vehicle had already been sold in 2021 to a certain “Christian”.
Further investigation showed that the vehicle had been lent by its owner, identified only as Christian, to his associate, alias “Tyron,” 35, a resident of Barangay San Rafael, Rodriguez, Rizal.
Meanwhile, a hot pursuit operation is ongoing for the arrest of the third suspect, identified as Lloyd Santos Araneta, also known as “Botchoy,”
Verification revealed that “Tyron” was arrested for Serious Physical Injuries recorded in February 2017 at a gasoline station in Brgy. Balite, Rodriguez, Rizal.
The arrested suspects will be charged with Estafa and referred to the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceedings.
