Robbery foiled after homeowner wakes up while being strangled by suspect

A robbery attempt failed after a homeowner woke up while being strangled by a suspect inside her house in Barangay San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal, on Monday, April 20.

According to the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station (Rodriguez MPS), the victim was asleep inside her residence when she suddenly awoke to find the suspect strangling her at around 3:30 a.m.

It prompted the victim to resist, resulting in a scuffle between her and the suspect, identified as “Harley.” The scuffle continued until the suspect fled the scene after she shouted for help.

As the suspect fled, the victim noticed that her mobile phone had fallen from the suspect’s shorts. She also observed that her belongings were scattered.

The victim discovered that the suspect had gained entry into the house by forcibly destroying their galvanized iron gate.

She immediately reported the incident, which prompted a follow-up operation that resulted in the suspect’s arrest.

The suspect is now under the custody of the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station.
