15 human trafficking victims rescued

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities rescued 15 suspected human trafficking and illegal recruitment victims, including a minor, during an operation on Monday evening, April 20, in a private wharf here.
Victims were six women, eight men, and a male minor.
Authorities launched the operation following intelligence reports that they were passengers on board the ML Alhazeeb on their way to Malaysia via the southern backdoor.
They were brought to the Women and Children Protection Desk-Maritime Field Unit for initial processing and documentation.
Authorities are conducting follow-up investigation.
