MALASIQUI, Pangasinan – The municipality of Manaoag is all set for the Centennial Canonical Celebration of the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary of Manaoag on April 22, according to the local chief executive.

Manaoag Mayor Jeremy Agerico Rosario, in a phone interview on Monday, said they are ready for the most anticipated religious event in Pangasinan and of devotees from all over the country.

Among the recent protocols to be implemented is the church lockdown or no entry to the church starting 8:15 a.m. Seating capacity inside the church is between 1,000 and 1,200 while there will be 2,000 outside seats within the basilica's vicinity.

"Everyone should be seated inside the church and the vicinity," he said.

Rosario said a temporary gun ban would be implemented and while a liquor ban would also be enforced on April 21 and 22 within Barangay Poblacion, where the church is situated.

Trucks with at least 10 wheels are banned April 19 to 26 in Barangay Poblacion.

Rosario said a special committee to address security was created in coordination with the Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, and the Special Weapons and Tactics unit, among others.

The ceremony and lone Mass will start at 9 a.m. in front of the basilica, where a makeshift altar will be set up. There will be no blessing of vehicles and religious articles.

“That's where Our Lady in Manaoag will be coronated, and all the religious and other guests will be here in the patio. We will be putting up LED (light-emitting diode) monitors so everyone can witness the coronation," Rosario said.

A procession of the real image of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag will be held in the afternoon.
