K-Pop's biggest labels eye Coachella-like festival — reports
Four major K-pop agencies are reportedly joining forces to establish a joint venture aimed at launching a large-scale music festival that could rival global events like the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
According to reports from Yonhap News Agency, HYBE, YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment are preparing to establish a corporation to develop an event called “Fanomenon.”
The event’s name combines the words “fan” and “phenomenon.”
Reports also say that Park Jin-young, founder of JYP Entertainment, along with the other companies, is planning to hold the event in December 2027, positioning it as a potential rival to Coachella.
The joint venture is described as a model for collaboration designed to explore new opportunities for expanding Korean culture—including K-pop—into global markets.
HYBE, SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment are widely known as the “Big Four” in K-pop. Together, they have launched many top artists and continue to shape industry trends.
HYBE manages several labels and is home to BTS—often regarded as the world’s biggest boy band—along with other popular groups like SEVENTEEN, Tomorrow X Together, and ENHYPEN.
Meanwhile, SM Entertainment is known for pioneering K-pop acts such as EXO, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, SHINee, NCT, and aespa.
Founded by Yang Hyun-suk, YG Entertainment has produced major acts like BIGBANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK.
JYP Entertainment, meanwhile, is behind groups such as Wonder Girls—known for their hit “Nobody”—as well as 2PM, TWICE, Stray Kids, and ITZY.
