On Saturday, April 18, the FBI Dallas released on its Facebook page a wanted poster for the suspect identified as Austin Jan Sy Yatco, born in August 1998 in San Pedro, Laguna.
It said that Yatco is part of an online group whose members carried out alleged criminal conduct on a series of gaming and social media platforms.
“Minor victims were allegedly coerced into creating child pornography of themselves, which was allegedly distributed amongst the online group,” the poster read.
The FBI said that a federal arrest warrant was issued for Yatco on Jan. 23 in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, Brooklyn, New York, after he was charged with Sexual Exploitation of Children, Material Involving Sexual Exploitation of Minors, and Certain Activities Relating to Material Constituting or Containing Child Pornography.
Authorities said that Yatco has ties to Plano, Texas, and the Philippines, where he is believed to be residing.
The public is urged to share any information that could help agents locate Yatco.
