Police anti-narcotics agents arrested a delivery rider for alleged involvement in selling illegal drugs during an operation in Taguig City.
A report from the National Capital Region Police Office said the operation was carried out after confirmed intelligence reports about the involvement of a 30-year old delivery rider in selling shabu in Taguig City.
Taguig City police chief Col. Julius C. Añonuevo said his men immediately mapped out an entrapment which resulted in the arrest of the suspect in Barangay Usasan.
Seized from him was around P342,000 worth of shabu which Añonuevo said will be used as evidence in the filing of drug charges.
“This operation shows our intensified campaign against illegal drugs. With the support of Mayor Lani Cayetano, we continue to strengthen our operations to keep communities safe and hold violators accountable,” said Añonuevo.
He said the operation was part of the intensified anti-drug efforts to target high-value individuals and disrupt illegal drug activities.
