Manila roads closed, traffic rerouted on April 19 for Earth Day Run 2026
Several major roads in Manila will be temporarily closed, and traffic will be rerouted starting 1 a.m. on Sunday, April 19, for the conduct of the Earth Day Run 2026.
The Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) said the following roads will be closed:
— Northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from P. Quirino Avenue to Katigbak Drive and southbound lane from P. Ocampo Avenue to Katigbak Drive
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes during the road closures.
Vehicles coming from the McArthur and Quezon bridges, bound for Roxas Boulevard southbound, may take P. Burgos Avenue straight to Taft Avenue.
Those coming from westbound Kalaw Avenue may turn left to M. H. del Pilar Street, while vehicles from Maria Orosa and A. Mabini streets may proceed to Kalaw Avenue, then to Taft Avenue.
Motorists from United Nations Avenue may use the Roxas Boulevard service road, while those from Bonifacio Drive may turn around at Anda Circle.
Vehicles from Binondo Intramuros may take westbound A. Soriano Avenue, while those from Plaza Cervantes may use the underpass to Escolta or pass through San Vicente Street to McArthur Bridge.
Truck drivers are also advised of alternate routes.
Trailer trucks and heavy vehicles from Pasay using Roxas Boulevard northbound must turn right to President Quirino Avenue, while those from Mel Lopez Boulevard bound for Roxas Boulevard must take Capulong Street to Yuseco Street, then proceed to Lacson Avenue.
Authorities advised motorists to expect heavy traffic in affected areas and to plan trips.
