First Couple mark 33rd anniversary with home-cooked dinner, simple gestures
President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos marked their 33rd wedding anniversary with a quiet, home-cooked dinner, highlighting what they described as simple but meaningful gestures.
“Anniversary dinner, made the old-fashioned way — with love,” the President said in a Facebook post.
A video the President shared online showed the First Couple, along with their son Vinny, preparing dinner in their kitchen.
Marcos said the menu included roast chicken, vegetable soup, salad, and pasta.
“This is our anniversary dinner,” he said as he prepared the soup.
At one point, the President demonstrated grinding toasted black pepper, noting the difference in aroma.
“Ang bango (It smells good)!” he said.
‘Simple, thoughtful’
The First Lady, in a separate post, described the celebration as a moment to slow down and enjoy each other’s company.
“Happy 33rd to the man who doesn’t just promise — he delivers,” she said.
She added that the combination of a market trip and a home-cooked dinner made the occasion more special.
Vegetable bouquet
Earlier, Marcos also gifted the First Lady a bouquet made of vegetables following his visit to Benguet.
The arrangement included cauliflower, tomatoes, and bell peppers, which he personally selected.
“I’ve received many beautiful bouquets, but this one felt especially meaningful… chosen by my husband himself,” the First Lady said.
“Simple, thoughtful, and full of love. Ang sweet talaga ng asawa ko (My husband is really sweet),” she added.
‘You have been my constant’
In his anniversary message, the President thanked the First Lady for their shared journey.
“33 years of marriage… we have walked it together,” he said.
“You have been my constant. Steady, wise, and always looking after our family,” he added.
