Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Alfredo Garbin Jr. gave a somewhat ominous statement regarding his former co-nominee Zaldy Co, who was arrested in the Czech Republic after roughly a year of hiding from Philippine authorities.
According to Garbin, Co--considered a key personality on the issue of anomalous flood control projects--still has a lot of things to say.
"I expect that he will tell all! Marami pa siyang hindi nasasabi (He has still has a lot of things to reveal)," said Garbin, a member of the pro-admiinistration majority bloc in the House of Representatives.
On Thursday night, April 16, President Marcos announced Co's capture in Prague, Czech Republic, after the fugitive allegedly crossed the border without proper documentation.
But Garbin said the quality of the ex-congressman's revelations would ultimately depend on the level of freedom that the Marcos administration would give him, once he gets brought home to the Philippines.
"In due time and affording him due process under our law, then lahat masisiwalat niya (he can tell all)," said Garbin, a lawyer.
"Given our political climate sana kung maiuwi siya (if ever he gets brought home) he can speak freely without any censure from the administration," he added.
In November last year, Co--while evading arrest--began to upload on Facebook a series pf video about President Marcos and his administration. He claimed that the government was out to "silence" him.
In the videos, Co alleged that the Chief Executive received billions in kickbacks from anomalous flood control projects.
