- Lotlot de Leon addresses rumored rift with Ian de Leon, denying involvement in organizations tied to Nora Aunor's estate and legacy.
Award-winning actress Lotlot de Leon has broken her silence on her reported misunderstanding with brother Ian de Leon, contradicting his earlier claim that their siblings were not excluded from plans involving organizations he established in their mother Nora Aunor’s name.
The issue came to light after Lotlot, along with siblings Matet and Kenneth, skipped Nora Aunor’s first death anniversary rites held April 16 at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. The event was led by Ian, Nora’s biological son, together with his family and supporters.
Meanwhile, Nora’s adopted children held a separate mass at St. John Paul II Parish in Eastwood, Quezon City.
In a statement released through her lawyer, Mark Julius Estur, Lotlot clarified her non-involvement in initiatives Ian previously discussed in an interview on ANC’s "Beyond the Exchange."
“Our client… would like to clarify her lack of involvement with any initiatives organized by Mr. Ian de Leon relative to the administration and management of the estate of their mother,” the statement read.
Lotlot stressed she was neither consulted nor involved in the creation of a One Person Corporation (OPC) tied to a foundation and enterprise honoring Nora Aunor.
“To dispel any speculation… Ms. de Leon was not in any way involved or consulted,” her camp said, adding that any claim linking her to the effort is “misleading and a false representation.”
She also disputed Ian’s statement that, despite his claim of being the sole heir, his siblings remain part of his plans.
“Our client denies such statement… she was not consulted nor informed at the very least,” the statement said, adding that to her knowledge, no last will and testament grants sole authority over their mother’s estate.
Lotlot emphasized she is not seeking any inheritance.
“She has stepped away completely… after Mr. Ian de Leon chose to take full responsibility for all legal matters,” her lawyers explained.
The statement further revealed that communication between the siblings has ceased.
Having remained silent out of respect for her late mother, Lotlot said she now felt compelled to speak.
“She will not allow her name to be dragged into something she is not a part of, or used in a way that does not reflect the truth,” the statement read.
She ended by urging the public to continue honoring Nora Aunor’s legacy, saying she will do so “privately, truthfully, and in her own way.”
