A man was arrested in Antipolo City on Tuesday, April 14, after allegedly stealing mobile phones worth P64,700 that were intended for rental by a sari-sari store.
The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) said the incident was reported by the store owner after discovering that the plastic bag where the stolen phones were placed was missing.
Based on the CCTV footage, the suspect was seen carrying away a plastic bag containing the stolen items at around 1:55 a.m. The victim also said the suspect entered their house in Barangay Inrarawan through the second floor without her consent.
Authorities conducted a follow-up operation to arrest the suspect, who was immediately turned over by his mother upon their arrival at their house.
However, the stolen items were not recovered, as some of them had already been sold. The suspect said he was driven by financial hardship.
He is now in police custody and may face a robbery charge.
