BTS bags 3 nominations at 52nd American Music Awards
K-pop superstars BTS garnered three nominations at the 52nd American Music Awards which will be held on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and hosted by Queen Latifah.
CBS and Dick Clark Productions announced the nominees for this year’s music awards ceremony.
The nominees were selected “based on key fan interactions, including streaming, album and song sales, radio airplay and tour grosses.”
“These measurements are tracked by Billboard and Luminate, the entertainment industry’s most trusted data partner, and cover the data tracking eligibility period of March 21, 2025 through March 26, 2026,” according to the AMAs website.
BTS made their comeback with the release of their “Arirang” album on March 20.
They are nominated for Artist of the Year, Song of the Summer for “Swim,” and Best Male K-Pop Artist.
For Artist of the Year, they are competing with Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift.
The nominees for Best Male K-Pop Artist are ATEEZ, BTS, ENHYPEN, Stray Kids, and Tomorrow X Together.
Vying for Best Female K-Pop Artist are Aespa, BLACKPINK, ILLIT, Le Sserafim and TWICE.
Fans can vote via VoteAMAs.com and the @AMAs Instagram profile in all categories. Voting will end on May 8 except for Social Song of the Year and Tour of the Year, which will remain open until the first 30 minutes of the AMAs broadcast.
The first-time nominees for the AMAs include Olivia Dean, SOMBR, Alex Warren, BigXthaPlug, Katseye, Leon Thomas, PinkPantheress, RAYE, Role Model, Sienna Spiro and Tate McRae.
