The congressman who served as overall chairman to the House Infrastructure Committee (infra comm) is hoping that Zaldy Co's reported capture would lead to the sharing of more details about the flood control corruption scandal.
Bicol Saro Party-list Rep. Terry Ridon, like the rest of the country, is now awaiting further developments.
(We expect that with the return of former Rep. Zaldy Co to the country, he will be able to provide additional information regarding the events surrounding the anomalous flood control projects in various parts of the nation.)
He will also be given the opportunity to face the cases filed against him in the Sandiganbayan)," Ridon said of the solon-turned-fugitive.
We will closely monitor the upcoming developments until he returns to the country)," the party-list lawmaker further said.
Minutes earlier, President Marcos announced that Co was arrested by Czech authorities. The ex-Ako Bicol Party-list representative was apprehended after entering the Czech Republic without proper documents.
Last year, Ridon led two hearings by the House infra comm on the flood control projects mess, of which Co was considered a central figure.
The joint panel then held its probe in abeyance after Marcos formed the Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI).
