CAVITE – Two persons died in a residential fire following a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank explosion in Barangay Salawag in Dasmariñas City on Thursday, April 16.
The Bureau of Fire Protection Dasmariñas City (BFP Dasmariñas) told the Manila Bulletin that the fire was reported at 9:06 a.m. after an explosion.
The blaze reached the first alarm at 9:12 a.m. and was declared extinguished at 9:55 p.m.
Firefighters said the house owner was operating an LPG tank business and that several tanks were stored in the area.
The two fatalities were a 65-year-old male employee of the LPG business and a 20-year-old nephew of the owner.
Four others were injured in the fire and were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
The BFP Dasmariñas said the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
