We don't care about your academic records.
This was the Makabayan bloc's rejoinder to Vice President Sara Duterte's statement on Wednesday, April 15 wherein she bared that she passed the Bar exams on her first attempt, among other things.
Vice President Duterte's remark was part of her own clapback to revelations made by detainee Ramil Madriaga, who shared to the House Committee on Justice Tuesday that the lady official struggled with her academics in law school.
"I graduated in May 2005 and took the Bar Exam in September of the same vear-something that had not been done before at SSC-R (San Sebastian Recoletos) College of Law until my time. The exam that year was relatively difficult. I passed the Bar on my first attempt with a GWA (general weighted average) of 80, five points above the minimum," Duterte said in a statement.
She also said that she "never asked any professor for special accommodation for my grades because the bare minimum was easy enough to meet". This was contrary to Madriaga's claims in Tuesday's hearing.
To this, militant solons ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio, Gabriela Party-list Rep. Sarah Elago, and Kabataan Party-list Rep. Renee Co said: "We are not concerned with academic records or law school transcripts."
"What we—and the Filipino people—demand are clear answers on how P612.5 million in confidential funds of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd) were used, accounted for, and whether these served legitimate public purposes," the trio said.
The alleged misuse of the P612.5 million confidential funds is a major allegation in the two active impeachment complaints against Vice President Duterte.

The Committee on Justice has been carrying out hearings on the complaints, and it is now on the stage of determining probable cause.
"Hindi rekord sa eskwelahan ang usapin. Ang dapat ipaliwanag niya ay ang P612.5 milyong pondo ng bayan. Nasaan ang liquidation? Nasaan ang mga dokumento? Nasaan ang malinaw na pananagutan sa bawat pisong kinuha sa kaban ng publiko? Yum ang dapat nyang sagutin," the Makabayan said.
(This is not about school records. What he must explain is the P612.5 million in public funds. Where is the liquidation? Where are the documents? Where is the clear accountability for every peso taken from the public treasury? That is what he needs to answer.)
The Vice President no-showed Tuesday's proceedings at the House of Representatives.
