The remains of 20 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Kuwait arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 on Wednesday morning, April 15, aboard Kuwait Airways, together with 328 repatriated workers.
They were received by officials from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
At the airport's cargo section, a priest led prayers and blessed the remains, offering solemn rites for those who died while working in the Middle East.
The DMW has not disclosed the causes of death, though reports confirm fatalities amid recent strikes in the region.
Families have requested privacy as they mourn the loss of loved ones who had sought a better life abroad but instead met tragedy.
