Two suspects were arrested hours after a heist at a commercial establishment in Barangay Doña Imelda, Quezon City, on Monday, April 13.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the suspects as alias “Opaw,” 39, and alias “Nono,” 45, both residents of Sampaloc, Manila.
The suspects were arrested by operatives of Galas Police Station (PS 11).
According to the police report, the robbery occurred at around 1 a.m. along E. Rodriguez Sr. Boulevard corner G. Araneta Avenue, but it was reported to authorities at around 9 a.m.
A follow-up investigation was immediately conducted, and authorities reviewed Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from nearby establishments.
The footage helped identify a tricycle believed to have been used as a getaway vehicle.
Investigators later tracked down the driver, who provided information that led to the location where one of the suspects had alighted.
Operatives proceeded to Barangay 593 in Sta. Mesa, Manila, where they spotted two individuals matching the descriptions.
The suspects attempted to flee but were apprehended after a brief chase at around 9 p.m.
Authorities recovered several items from the suspects, including mobile phones, wristwatches, bags, and other valuables.
The items were later presented to the victims, who confirmed they were among those taken during the robbery.
Police also disclosed that alias “Opaw” has previous cases, including grave threats in 2019, robbery in 2025, and violations of illegal gambling law under P.D. 1602 earlier this year.
The suspects will face robbery charges before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
