Man hacks brother over cigarette in Rizal

A man was arrested after allegedly hacking his own brother using a bolo over a cigarette during a drinking session in Morong, Rizal on Sunday, April 12.

The Teresa Municipal Police Station identified the suspect as “Vincent,” who is now under police custody after being surrendered by his mother on Sunday evening.

Based on the initial investigation, the suspect and the victim were having a drinking session in Barangay Lagundi at around 5:30 p.m. when a heated argument ensued over a cigarette.

During the altercation, the suspect allegedly brandished a bolo and hacked the victim in the neck. A witness was able to pacify the suspect.

The victim is currently confined at the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center.

Authorities recovered the 18-inch long bolo used in the attack.
