Former senator Richard Gordon, chairman and chief executive officer of the Philippine Red Cross, pledged additional support for student beneficiaries in recognition of the importance of connectivity in supporting their education.
“To the student-beneficiaries, we will provide mobile phones to help you with your studies. And if it’s not enough, we will give more,” said Gordon during the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Mobility for Dignity 2026 wheelchair distribution at the PRC Logistics and Multipurpose Center in Mandaluyong.
The commitment highlights PRC’s effort to go beyond physical assistance by addressing the broader needs of beneficiaries—particularly students who rely on digital tools for learning and communication.
The announcement was made during the distribution of 50 wheelchairs to beneficiaries from Metro Manila and Rizal, as part of the organization’s ongoing Mobility for Dignity 2026 program. The initiative supports persons with disabilities and individuals with limited mobility, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.
Through initiatives like Mobility for Dignity, the PRC reaffirms its commitment to inclusive humanitarian action—ensuring that assistance not only meets immediate needs but also empowers individuals to build a better future.
