Caraga police to bolster internal cleansing with 7,000 drug test kits
BUTUAN CITY – The Police Regional Office in the Caraga region (PRO-13) received 7,000 drug test kits from two private sector stakeholders on Monday to support the command’s internal cleansing program.
The donors, PLDT-Smart Foundation and One Meralco Foundation, are members of the Regional Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (RAGPTD-13).
Police Major Jennifer Ometer, PRO-13 information office chief, said Tuesday that Deputy Regional Director for Administration Police Col. Rommel Rumbaoa and Deputy Regional Director for Operations Police Col. James Goforth officially received the donation.
“The RAGPTD-13 has been a partner of PRO-13 in various community engagements,” Ometer said as she thanked the group for the donation.
In a separate statement, PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Marcial Mariano Magistrado IV emphasized that the kits will bolster the command’s efforts to promote discipline, accountability, and professionalism.
“Let me be clear, there is no place for police scalawags here in PRO-13. I assure the public that we will remain steadfast in our commitment to cleanse our ranks and uphold the integrity of our organization,” Magistrado said.
The regional director added that the availability of these kits will enhance the implementation of measures aimed at eliminating "misfits" within the force, reinforcing public trust and institutional credibility.
