66 suffer food poisoning from eating tulingan sold by ambulant vendors

ILOILO CITY — Sixty-six persons have suffered food poisoning from eating aloy or tulingan fish in Iloilo.
From an initial 20 individuals, the Iloilo Provincial Health Office (IPHO) said 46 people were affected between April 6 to April 10.
IPHO chief Dr. Maria Socorro Colmenares-Quiñon said majority of them have fully recovered and three remain hospitalized.
Nine cases were recorded in the towns of Banate and Mina as well as the component city of Passi; seven in Dumangas and six in San Enrique; four in Barotac Viejo and Janiuay towns; three in Balasan and Barotac Nuevo towns; two each in Anilao and Cabatuan towns, and
one in Alimodian, Calinog, Dueñas, Miag-ao, Pototan, Sara, and Tigbauan.Health officials suspect the fish were not properly stored below four degrees Celsius.
