KIDAPAWAN CITY – Police announced Monday that it is pursuing several persons of interest in the daring weekend robbery at the AV Pawnshop, where suspects stole P13-million worth of jewelry, according to the pawnshop's management.
“The police follow-up operations are continuing with the help of the military. The suspects are now the subject of a relentless manhunt,” Police Lt. Col. Argie Celeste, the city police chief, told reporters here in an interview.
Celeste said that the robbers, four of them, executed the daring holdup at about 9 a.m. Saturday, with two serving as lookouts-cum-getaway motorcycle drivers.
He said the robbers first approached an unsuspecting security guard who was in full uniform but unarmed.
“It was well-planned. The suspects fled on board two motorcycles. We are pursuing them,” Celeste said, adding that several closed-circuit security cameras captured the facial features of the suspects before they pulled the robbery. (PNA)
