Sophia Laforteza made history as she performed at the Coachella Music Festival 2026 with international girl group KATSEYE, marking a major milestone for Filipino representation on one of the world’s biggest music stages.

During the set, Sophia couldn’t hide her emotions as she noticed Filipino flags waving in the crowd.

“I’m overwhelmed with emotion,” she said. “It’s so beautiful. I see some people raising the Filipino flag here in Coachella. You guys are making our dreams come true.”

KATSEYE, composed of Sophia, Lara Rajagopalan, Daniela Andrea Avanzini, Megan Skiendiel, and Yoonchae Jeung, delivered a high-energy, emotionally charged debut performance at the Sahara Stage.

The group performed without Manon Bannerman, who is currently on hiatus, but still delivered a standout set that showcased their versatility and rising global appeal.

They opened strong with the first-ever live performance of “Pinky Up,” instantly capturing the crowd’s attention, followed by their debut track “Debut.”

The group then slowed things down with “Mean Girls,” before picking the energy back up with “Touch,” keeping the audience fully engaged.

One of the night’s biggest highlights came during their performance of “Golden,” which featured surprise appearances from EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

Another standout moment was Sophia’s performance of “My Way,” where she showcased her powerful vocals, earning praise from fans who proudly dubbed her performance as peak “Filipino vocal power.”

The group closed their performance with “M.I.A.” and “Gnarly,” ending on a high note and solidifying their breakout moment at Coachella.

With both BINI and Sophia Laforteza making noise at Coachella 2026, it’s clear that Filipina artists are no longer just part of the conversation, they are leading it.

KATSEYE is set to return for the festival’s second weekend on April 17, 2026 (April 18, PHT).
