Dr. Manny Calayan opens up about an 'illicit' affair, claims ex-wife Dr. Pie 'detained' his vlogger girlfriend

The celebrity doctor opened up during an interview with Kapuso broadcaster Susan Enriquez on her YouTube show, "Kay Susan Tayo! Vlogs," where he spoke candidly about the breakdown of his marriage.
Pressed on whether he had strayed while Dr. Pie was abroad, Manny did not deny it. "Illicit affair lang. Hindi naman love child," he admitted, drawing a distinction between the affair and any deeper entanglement.
Rumors of the affair had apparently reached Dr. Pie abroad, prompting her to fly home without warning. "Kasi may nababalitaan nga siya hanggang sa umuwi siya. Hindi ko alam yung pag-uwi niya. Biglaan. Surprise," Manny recalled.
Dr. Manny admitted that his former wife was determined to catch him in the act. "Nahuli ako," he said.
The story took an ironic turn when Manny disclosed that his girlfriend, a vlogger, had been seeing Dr. Pie professionally for dermatology care. "Naging patient ko yung ka-affair ko. Nagpa-derma sa kanya. Ang galing ng instinct niya. Maganda.”

While Dr. Manny was in Canada, his girlfriend informed him that Dr. Pie had "detained" her at the clinic and subjected her to an interrogation, which ultimately led to the vlogger admitting to the affair.
Manny said he knew the jig was up the moment he heard what happened. "Sabi ko, 'Patay! Madugong engkuwentro ito. Umamin na lang ako,'" he recalled.
Despite the drama, the split was a long time coming. Manny confirmed that while their formal separation was finalized in 2024, the couple had already been living apart since 2019.
He traced the beginning of the end to the moment Dr. Pie left the Philippines to accompany their children as they pursued studies abroad — a decision that, over time, created an irreparable distance between them. Watch the full episode:
