From starting out as video editors for YouTube superstar Markiplier, to independently amassing a following of over one million followers, Matt Watson and Ryan Magee have come a long way since they started their channel SuperMega over 10 years ago.
While most know the "funny brothers" as a comedy sketch and gaming channel, their humble beginnings had them appearing on various comedy skits with their former boss, Mark Fischbach, while also editing videos for his channel. Before editing for Markiplier, the duo had worked on their own comedy channels, Cyndago and Kids w/ Problems. The duo met each other through their mutual friend, Daniel Kyre. Daniel was a longtime friend of Ryan and started the Cyndago channel with him.
Early on, Matt and Ryan had an interesting start to their friendship. Initially, Ryan didn't mind Matt much due to Matt sending him edited pictures of him and his family members as a prank. As time went on, Matt would end up joining Ryan and Daniel on Cyndago to help produce more sketch comedy videos. Daniel would also be the duo's link to Markiplier, after sending an email out to Mark in hopes for a collaboration. Eventually the trio end up becoming regular collaborators with Mark, even going so far as to venture out to Los Angeles with him after he moved. As Markiplier's channel grew, Matt and Ryan were recruited to be his video editors. Various skits featuring Matt, Ryan, and Daniel were featured on Markiplier and Cyndago's channels. Cyndago's success continued until it met its unfortunate end in 2015 after the death of Daniel, leading to the channel's retirement. Matt and Ryan would continue working under Mark until 2016, before moving on to edit for a different let's play channel, the Game Grumps, run by Arin "Egoraptor" Hanson and Ninja Sex Party frontman Dan Avidan.

During this crucial year for their careers, Matt and Ryan formed the SuperMega channel. Their first video was uploaded on April 12, 2016, promising gaming videos, movie reviews, and a weekly podcast. It would gain 100,000 subscribers by July. By 2019, the duo moved on to focus on their channel full-time, after surpassing half a million subs the year before. At the height of their popularity, the boys would collaborate with bigtime YouTube channels like OneyPlays, Jacksepticeye, and Cold Ones. SuperMega's popularity would also cross paths with mainstream media after "Stranger Things" star Finn Wolfhard appeared in a sketch called "Cooking with Finn Wolfhard."

By the 2020s, Matt and Ryan's channel grew steadily toward the one million subscribers mark. During this time, they ventured into other creative outlets. In 2021, they sponsored Martin Motorsports at the NASCAR Cup Series and had a customized SuperMega racecar built for the tournament. Unfortunately the car, driven by Tommy Joe Martins, did not finish after getting into an accident 186 laps in. The duo would also produce their own book, "SuperMega Saves the Troops," a best-selling alternate history novel wherein the funny brothers are recruited to terminate Osama bin Laden. They would also end up participating as boxers, albeit unsuccessfully, to raise money for iDubbbz's "Creator Clash" charity boxing event.

As the duo gained more popularity, controversy struck the channel in 2022 after one of their employees embezzled over nearly $61,000 from SuperMega's earnings from 2020 to 2022. One of their former channel artists were also accused of sexually harassing someone within their circle. More allegations and personal tea would be revealed about the duo after these controversies became public. This eventually led to the duo releasing separate apology videos on the channel and taking an eventual hiatus. This hiatus would last nearly a year.
Upon their return in 2024, Matt and Ryan have continued producing content for their channel. Their former podcast was rebranded into the SuperMegaShow, whereas their channel continues to produce comedy skits and host a weekly livestream. Currently, their channel sits at over one million subs and sometimes hosts collaborations with other online personalities like Meatcanyon, Nuthinbutlag, FoolishKia, and bbno$.
