26 arrested for illegal e-sabong in Nueva Vizcaya

SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya – Police arrested 26 individuals for illegal online cockfighting or e-sabong at the Solano Cockpit Arena in Barangay Roxas here on Sunday, April 12.
The suspects were residents of Nueva Ecija, Baguio City, and Solano.
Solano police chief Police Major John Anthony Sanchez said among those apprehended were livestream operators and a cockpit arena supervisor.
The operation was conducted following reports of illegal gambling activities in the arena.
Recovered from the suspects were P616,250 in bet money, betting tickets and receipts, three computers, five cellphones, four internet routers, two LED monitors, and other equipment used in e-sabong.
Police said the group was linked to an illegal e-sabong operation in Abulug, Cagayan on April 11.
The suspects are in the custody of the Solano Police Station and face charges for violating Presidential Decree No. 1602 (illegal gambling) and Republic Act No. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
