QCPD tracks down rented SUV in Bulacan after GPS removal alarm
A rented SUV reported missing in Quezon City was traced to Bulacan after authorities were alerted to the removal of its GPS device, prompting a swift coordinated operation by police, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported on April 12.
Acting on the complaint, QCPD’s District Anti-Carnapping Unit (DACU) traced the vehicle to Bustos, Bulacan, with the support of Police Regional Office 3 and local barangay officials.
The case stemmed from a rental agreement dated April 4, 2026, in Quezon City, under which the Suzuki Ertiga GLX AT was leased for P3,000 per day for three days.
Following verification and coordination efforts, responding teams proceeded to Purok 3, Barangay San Pedro, Bustos, where the vehicle was located.
Upon arrival, the police, in coordination with barangay officials, facilitated the renter's and her companion's voluntary appearance.
The complainant subsequently opted not to pursue legal action following the recovery.
The vehicle was turned over to authorities for proper documentation and inspection, including LTO verification and macro-etching examination to confirm the integrity of its engine and chassis numbers.
