BACOLOD CITY – The City of Bago in Negros Occidental mourned the death of Police Master Sgt. Romulo Galvez Jr., a native of Barangay Dulao, Bago City, who was killed in a buy-bust operation here recently.
“A true-blooded Bagonhon, we honor the legacy of service he left behind,” said the city government as they condoled with Galvez’s family.
They said that Galvez’s unwavering dedication and exceptional courage in protecting the community will never be forgotten.
“A true hero. May his legacy continue to inspire fellow Bagonhons to serve and live with honor, integrity, and compassion,” the city government said.
Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, director of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), visited the wake of Galvez in Barangay Dulao and extended financial and emotional support to his family on Sunday, April 12.
Ibay was accompanied by Police Col. Eugene Rebadomia, Bacolod police director, and Police Capt. Andy Ofalia, commander of Police Station 9.
Ibay said the sacrifice of Galvez will never be forgotten and his legacy of courage and dedication will continue to inspire the entire police force.
The interment of Galvez, a police officer for 18 years, is set on April 26 in a cemetery in Barangay Sum-ag here.
