Pasig LGU to implement four-day compressed workweek amid rising oil prices
With oil prices continuously rising due to the Middle East conflict, the Pasig local government will implement a temporary four-day compressed workweek for city hall employees beginning Monday, April 13, and will further intensify mandatory energy conservation measures.
The local government said the temporary four-day workweek, implemented under Executive Order No. PCG-22, s. 2026, will remain in effect until June 30.
Under the EO, city hall employees and offices will operate from Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., except those involved in the delivery of essential services.

“Ang mga tanggapan at serbisyo na nakalahad sa post na ito ay magpapatuloy sa kanilang regular na operating hours upang masiguro na tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang pagkakaloob ng mga pangunahin at essential na serbisyo ng Pamahalaang Lungsod (The offices and services listed in this post will continue their regular operating hours to ensure the continuous delivery of essential services by the city government),” the local government said.
It added that mandatory energy conservation measures that were first implemented in March will be further intensified.
The following are the conservation measures:
●Maintain air-conditioning units at 24°C and turn them off by 6 p.m.
●Turn off non-essential lights and equipment during lunch break and after office hours.
●Shut down equipment when not in use and set office equipment to sleep mode when idle.
●Minimize elevator use. Use the stairs for one-floor movements. Priority in the use of elevator will be given to senior citizens, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, and those carrying heavy loads (equipment, supplies, food transport of catering services, etc.).
●Practice efficient use of government resources at all times.
●No events and activities at the Temporary Pasig City Hall from Friday to Sunday.
The local government expressed hope that Pasigueños and visitors to the city will cooperate in promoting energy conservation measures, saying this should be observed not only in city government offices but also in their respective homes and communities.
