MUPH 2026 Moved: Coronation night reset sparks buzz among pageant-crazy Pinoys

For a country that treats pageants like a national sport, even the slightest change can feel like a major plot twist.

And this time, fans of Miss Universe Philippines 2026 will have to wait just a little longer.

Well, a day at least.

Originally set for May 1, the highly anticipated coronation night has officially been moved to May 2, still happening at the iconic Mall of Asia Arena.

The announcement, made by the pageant organization, cited the need for additional preparation time to ensure a seamless and world-class production.

“This adjustment allows sufficient time for venue preparation and ensures the proper staging and production of the coronation night,” the organization shared.

Gates will open at 6 p.m., with the show kicking off at 7 p.m. 

Let’s be real, this isn’t just any schedule change.

This side of paradise, pageants are practically a cultural event. Families gather, group chats explode, and social media becomes a battlefield of bets, favorites, and fierce debates.

So yes, moving coronation night, even by a day, matters. A lot.

Labor Day weekend plans? Adjusted. Watch parties? Rescheduled. Fan predictions? Still ongoing.

At stake is the crown currently held by Ahtisa Manalo, who will pass it on to her successor by the end of the night.

A total of 50 delegates representing provinces across the Philippines and Filipino communities abroad are in the running, making this one of the most competitive editions yet.

Before coronation night, fans can still get their pageant fix at the upcoming National Costume Competition on April 16.

The event will be held at the Urdaneta City Cultural and Sports Center.

“The stage is set for a celebration of culture, creativity, and Filipino identity,” the organization teased.

If anything, the delay is only building anticipation.

With a grander production promised and stakes higher than ever, May 2 is shaping up to be a night pageant fans won’t want to miss.
