Gunrunner arrested in Cebu

CEBU CITY – A 21-year-old man allegedly involved in gunrunning activities was arrested in an entrapment operation in Compostela town, Cebu province on Friday night, April 10.
The suspect Chris was arrested while dealing with a police poseur-buyer in Barangay Canamucan.
The operation was conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Mandaue City Field Unit and Compostela Municipal Police Station.
Police said the suspect was arrested when he failed to present documents showing he was authorized to sell, carry, or possess firearms.
Seized from the suspect were a 9mm Ingam sub-machine gun, 10 bullets for a 9mm caliber pistol, and a steel magazine.
Police said the suspect will be charged for violating Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
