500 entry wristbands stolen at BTS concert venue in Goyang
A man stole about 500 wristbands used for audience verification at K-pop superstars BTS’ concert at Goyang Stadium in Goyang, South Korea on April 11.
According to the Ilsan West Police Station, a report was received at about 3:20 p.m. KST that a man stole 500 entry wristbands from a ticket booth at the auxiliary stadium of the Goyang Sports Complex and fled, Korean media reported.
The wristbands are used to prove that the wearer is a legitimate attendee.
BTS launched their “Arirang” world tour at Goyang Stadium on April 9 with two more shows happening on April 11 and 12.
Police have secured statements from eyewitnesses and nearby CCTV footage to identify the suspect's appearance and are currently tracking him.
"Entry is absolutely impossible with wristbands obtained without going through the proper procedures at the identity verification booth,” said an official of Big Hit Music, BTS’ agency.
They also urged the public to "immediately report to the organizers or the police if you witness anyone providing or selling wristbands outside the venue."
A police official told Korean media, “We are conducting CCTV analysis and questioning in the surrounding area to apprehend the suspect. We are cooperating with the concert organizers to ensure that the stolen wristbands are not misused for illegal entry.”
