Woman injured by falling metal from construction site in Binondo
A woman was injured after being struck by a metal object that fell from a construction site in Binondo, Manila, on Friday afternoon, April 10.
According to responders, the incident occurred along Quintin Paredes Street.
The victim, identified as 23-year-old Karyme Gido, sustained a head injury with an approximately 3-centimeter laceration due to blunt force trauma.
She was found conscious and oriented, but reported dizziness.
On-site treatment included wound cleaning and bandaging before she was transported to Metropolitan Hospital for further care.
Initial reports said the victim was walking along a public road when the metal piece fell from an ongoing building project and hit her on the head.
Authorities are investigating the incident to determine whether safety protocols were followed at the construction site.
Officials reminded construction firms to ensure proper safety measures are in place to prevent similar accidents, especially in areas with heavy pedestrian traffic.
