Man arrested for raping stepdaughter

BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested a man for allegedly raping his minor stepdaughter in Don Carlos town, Bukidnon province on Monday, April 6.

A family member accompanied the victim to the Don Carlos Municipal Police Station on Wednesday to report the incident.

Police apprehended the suspect at the victim’s residence while trying to escape.

Investigation said the suspect allegedly abused the victim twice.

During the second incident, the victim was able to resist and escape.

She reported the abuses to her grandmother who informed the victim’s uncle and sought police assistance. The suspect is under the custody of the Don Carlos MPS and faces appropriate charges.

The victim will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for proper protection, counseling, and support.

PRO-10 Director Police Brig. Gen. Christopher N. Abrahano commended arresting personnel.

Abrahano urged the public to immediately report abuse or criminal activity to ensure prompt police action and protection of the community.
