Kiko Barzaga donates P5,000 to struggling animal rescuer

When he's not busy commenting on national politics, Cavite 4th district Rep. Francisco "Kiko" Barzaga puts his money where his mouth is as far as caring for his beloved "posacats" are concerned.
In a Facebook post on Thursday night, April 9, Las Piñas City-based animal rescuer Mylha Tungul, bared that the self-styled "congressmeow" has made a gracious donation to help pay for the medical needs of one of her cats.
"We would like to sincerely thank Congressman Kiko Barzaga for his generous donation of ₱5,000 for Primo’s veterinary bills," Tungul wrote.
"Your kindness and support mean so much to us during this difficult time. Because of you, Primo is one step closer to getting the care he needs. We are truly grateful for your compassion and generosity. Thank you for making a difference in Primo’s life," she told Barzaga in her post.
Primo underwent surgery a few days ago. Apparently the furbaby was either kicked or hit in the head, leaving him with a broken jaw. This left Primo in a pitiful state where he was in pain and couldn't eat properly.
"Hindi pa sapat ang nalikom namin pero hindi pwedeng laging nakabuka ang bunganga nya. Kaya kahit kulang ang pera ililipat ko pa rin sya," Tungul wrote in a separate post.
(The funds we raised are still not enough, but Primo can’t keep his mouth open all the time. So even if the money is lacking, I will still have him transferred.)
"Successful ang surgery ni Primo! Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nag-donate, nag-pray, at nag-share. Special thanks din kay Doc Cerdy Veloso ng Deloso VET sa pag-opera at pag-aalaga at sa Rosevet Animal Clinic at Providence Veterinary Clinic," the rescuer said in an update.

Barzaga, 27, declared at the start of his term: "Gagawa ako ng mga batas para sa mga stray asodogs at posacats (I will create laws for stray dogs and cats)."
The Gen Z solon has since grabbed headlines for his controversial and inappropriate remarks on various issues, as well as his fixation on becoming House Speaker.
He has served two 60-day suspensions so far in the 20th Congress, and he appears to remain unapologetic about his actions.
