Dizon commits funds to finish 2 long-delayed Laguna hospital projects

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon on Friday committed funding to finally complete long-delayed hospital projects in Laguna following an onsite inspection with Gov. Sol Aragones.
Dizon said construction can commence within the year.
“When I found out that patients are overcrowded here and our people are suffering, our commitment is clear: We will finish this and we will fund it,” Dizon said in Filipino during the inspection at Laguna Medical Center.
Aragones requested P50 million to complete the building, whose foundations have remained idle for six years.
The governor said once completed, the building will provide additional space for an emergency facility, more patient wards, and a dormitory for healthcare workers.
Dizon also visited the Luisiana District Hospital and promised further funding support.
He revealed that the directive to prioritize Laguna’s hospital projects came from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., prompting immediate coordination with the provincial government to resume construction within the year.
“The President told me to go to you right away. So, let’s start this, this year,” Dizon said.
