ZAMBOANGA CITY – More than 2,000 drivers and operators of public utility jeepneys and tricycles here
received fuel subsidy from the city government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development from Wednesday to Thursday.

The city government distributed financial subsidies amounting to P2,000 to drivers to coincide with a payout conducted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development where driver-beneficiaries received P5,000 each.
A total of 2,373 jeepney drivers from Districts 1 and 2 benefited from the payout on Wednesday.
Drivers and operators of more than 1,600 tricycles benefited from the P5,000 fuel subsidy distributed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development in several venues on Thursday.
The distribution of financial assistance is expected to include more sectors after Zamboanga City was placed under a state of calamity.
