It is now or never.
Reigning champion College of St. Benilde and the hungry Letran side chase glory as the two squads duke it out for the NCAA crown in Game 3 of the Season 101 women’s volleyball finale at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila Friday, April 10.
Both finalists share the goal winning the championship, but their motivations hugely differ with the Lady Blazers looking to complete a rare five-peat to extend their dynasty, and the Lady Knights trying to catch the biggest fish and win their first title in more than two decades.
The thrilling match fires off at 3 p.m., following the 12 p.m. action between Benilde and Mapua who will also meet one last time for the men's diadem.
Led by newly-minted Most Valuable Player Zam Nolasco, the Taft-based squad found ways to live for another day after grinding out a rousing 25-18, 25-21, 27-25 Game 2 victory to tie the series against Letran.
It was a fitting win for Nolasco, who was also named the Best Middle Blocker, and for her teammates who also snared their respective individual awards in Cam Bartolome (Rookie of the Year), Shekinah Lleses (Best Outside Spiker), and Chenae Basarte (Best Setter).
The Lady Blazers also gun for a piece of history as they try to become only the third team after the Lady Knights and the San Sebastian Lady Stags to win five consecutive titles.
However, Letran is surely out to spoil the party as the Lady Knights wish to take the crown they last bagged in Season 74 (1999), with Best Opposite Spiker Judiel Nitura and Best Libero Lara Mae Silva leading the Intramuros-based squad.
