Elderly patient, staff killed in ambulance crash

BACOLOD CITY – A 70-year-old woman and a 30-year-old employee were killed in ambulance crash in Purok Biante, Barangay Recreo, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, April 8.
The ambulance was transporting the elderly patient to a hospital here from Isabela, Negros Occidental during heavy rainfall.
The driver, Barangay Sebucauan, Isabela Captain Stephen, 48, reportedly avoided a vehicle they were tailing and lost control of the ambulance.
The ambulance swerved to the right and hit the concrete post of a solar streetlight. The patient and staff were declared dead in a hospital.
The ambulance driver and the patient's 50-year-old companion were injured and recuperating in a hospital.
