BTS' Jung Kook apologizes for controversial livestream: 'I don't think I was wrong'

BTS member Jung Kook has addressed his controversial “explicit livestream” — a day before his group kicks off its highly anticipated world tour.
In a report by the Herald Muse, Jungkook went live on the fan platform Weverse on Apr. 8, speaking publicly about the incident for the first time in over two months.
"I would like to apologize for a recent live stream. Personally, when I think about whether I did something seriously wrong, I honestly don’t know.”
He continued, “I am not a public figure, and these are things that everyone in this industry says. I thought it might have been uncomfortable to watch since I haven't shown that side of myself until now. I apologize if you felt uncomfortable. I will refrain from doing so.”
He added, “I don’t want to say much to people who are busy tearing into everything. Thank you for your interest. I had a comeback that day and felt so good. Those who know, know how I feel about the ARMYs. Please just know that.”
At the end of his statement, Jungkook said he has always been sincere and wants to do well in his own endeavors.
"I have always been sincere, and I want to do well on my own, and I want to do well because of you all. I don’t know where I might go next. I really won’t do anything bad, but as a human being, it can happen sometimes. Please point out anything that makes you uncomfortable or feels wrong. I will accept it," he said.
Earlier last February, Jungkook hosted a live broadcast while intoxicated. He sparked controversy by giving the middle finger to his acquaintances and actually using profanity.
Seeing this, some fans tried to stop Jungkook, but he continued undeterred. As this occurred just before BTS's full-group comeback, a heated debate arose over Jungkook's behavior.
Jungkook suddenly apologized about two months after the profanity controversy broke out. However, he drew attention by maintaining his stance that he had not done anything wrong.
