Rider dies after being hit, run over by trucks in Pasig

A 55-year-old motorcycle rider died after being sideswiped by a truck and run over by another truck along Ortigas Avenue Extension in Barangay Rosario, Pasig City on Wednesday afternoon, April 8.

The Pasig City Police Station said the incident occurred at around 3:05 p.m. in front of a gasoline station.
Based on the initial investigation, the victim was reportedly traversing west to east while occupying the inner lane. At the same time, a yellow truck driven by “Leonardo” and a white truck driven by “Arjay” were also traveling in the same direction.
Authorities said that upon reaching the place of the incident, the left rear portion of the victim's vehicle was sideswiped by the front right portion of the white truck.
Due to the impact, the victim lost balance and was reportedly pushed toward the lane of the yellow truck, where he fell onto the roadway and was run over by the yellow truck.
Pasig CPS said the victim sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on the spot by responding personnel from the Pasig Emergency Unit (PEU).
Meanwhile, both drivers of the trucks were immediately arrested and were turned over to the Pasig Vehicle Traffic Investigation Unit (VTIU) office for proper investigation.
