A patrol vehicle of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) fell into a creek at the corner of Gilmore Avenue and 5th Street in Barangay Mariana, Quezon City.
Initial reports showed that the vehicle came from 5th Street and turned right toward Gilmore Avenue but continued moving straight, hit a wire barrier, and fell into the creek.
In a statement, the QCPD said a police officer driving a QCPD-issued vehicle lost control and crashed into a steel fence before plunging into a nearby creek and overturning.
The driver and passengers sustained injuries and were brought to the Philippine National Police (PNP) General Hospital for medical attention.
The incident also caused damage to property.
The police vehicle sustained heavy damage, including broken front and rear windshields, damaged side mirrors and headlights, and a dented hood.
QCPD director Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio has ordered an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident.
Authorities said appropriate administrative charges will be filed if negligence is established.
