Brig. Gen. Aden T. Lagradante, Eastern Police District (EPD) director, led 194 personnel from the Pasig City Police Station and other EPD units, together with the local Barangay Security Force (BSF), Traffic and Parking Management Office (TPMO), and Peace and Order Department (POD) of Pasig City, during operations conducted from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
EPD said that of the 637 individuals, three were arrested, including a wanted person and two others for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Meanwhile, 402 were cited for city ordinance violations, such as drinking in public, curfew violations, and being half-naked; 202 for various traffic violations; and 30 for PD 96 violations, including illegal use of blinkers and open mufflers.
Oplan Galugad highlights the intensified enforcement of local ordinances, including curfew, anti-smoking in public places, being half-naked, drinking in public, and videoke operations.
The initiative is aligned with the DILG’s Safer Cities initiative, which uses the implementation of local ordinances as a targeted effort to strengthen public safety and restore residents’ sense of security in urban areas.
Authorities added that similar operations were simultaneously conducted in the cities of Marikina, Mandaluyong, and San Juan.
