Police arrested a 47-year-old man after residents reported him roaming armed with a gun in Bautista Compound, Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
The suspect, identified as alias Albert, who was nabbed at about 1:11 a.m. for illegal possession of a firearm.
Police said they received a text message from a resident about a man carrying a gun and causing panic in the community.
Responding police officers spotted a man, who matched the description, and found him in possession of a .357 Magnum revolver without a serial number and with two live rounds.
Albert was immediately taken into custody, with the firearm and ammunition turned over to the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section for documentation.
A complaint for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) will be filed against the suspect.
In a separate operation, police arrested alias Romel, 36, a technician, at his residence in Centennial Village, Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig, for a case for child abuse and acts of lasciviousness.
Tagged as the No. 5 most wanted person in the city, Romel was nabbed on the strength of a warrant for acts of lasciviousness issued on Feb. 20 by Presiding Judge Loralie Cruz Datahan of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69. The bail was set at P108,000.
